Abstract The article directly concerns the constantly growing role of the consumer on the market of goods and services. The authors describe the related trends, which have intensified in recent years. The first of these concepts is prosumption, which indicates the emergence of a new type of consumer who combines the characteristics of both the recipient and the creator of specific goods. Prosumers already have a big impact on the final appearance and character of the product at the design stage. Directly with this phenomenon is related to the new term: human-centered design or user-centered design. The authors also describe prosumer behavior in practice.
