Abstract The article is culturalist’s contribution to the current discussion on socio-cultural aspects of COVID-19 pandemic. In the frame of Introduction the COVID-19 disease is presented as a biological, ecological and epidemiological phenomenon.It also requires a cultural and social approach. First paragraph presents the beginning of the COVID-19 as well as the global and dynamic picture of its spread. Second paragraph presents triggering strategic elements in the fight with the global spread of infections. Next paragraph titled Cultural paradigm of pandemic is dedicated to the cultural and historical aspects of the Plague reflecting the most archaic and metaphoric sense together with its universal social scheme. The last paragraph titled COVID-19 as the Global Disease presents current pandemic as a metaphor of the global terminal disease and the mirror of our times to be changed.
