Abstract The article attempts to diagnose the place and role of influencers in the life of the Z generation. The theoretical part presents the definitional approach to the concept of generation and the characteristics of the X, Y, Z generation. The research part is a description of the author's own research. After the methodological introduction, the results of research conducted on students of the University of Rzeszów in March and April 2020 were presented. This was the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in Poland, which was associated with a sudden and unexpected transition of the university to distance learning. Students are representatives of the Z generation, which was born and grew up in the times of universal Internet and wide availability of social networking sites. Social networks are the place of activity of people called influencers, whose followers are the so-called followers, among which the significant group is representatives of the Z generation. Analyzes of own research are based on presenting the results in the form of percentage data and verification of the adopted research hypotheses.
