Abstract The pontificate of Pope Francis has highlighted the need for practical application of the Church’s social teaching to the key issues of caring for the poor, protecting the environment, and promoting world peace. Earlier pontificates also provided a foundation for this teaching, such as the category of “creativity in charity” introduced by John Paul II. In order to solve the complex problems of humanity, it is not enough to have a reflex of compassion, it is precisely the creativity that is necessary, which may consist, on the one hand, of an interdisciplinary study of the crises and their interdependence, and, on the other hand, in overcoming them through their “collision” and the resulting synergy. As the exemplification of such approach the analysis of the contemporary housing market, combined with deepened understanding of the complexity of recycling processes and their interrelationship to the wars being waged around the world are given. The theologian’s task in the face of such an outlined area of research is to be faithful to the truth and to humanity, whom the Church, by supernatural motivation, wishes to serve as effectively as possible in a dynamically changing world.
