Streszczenie In all European societies, the median age is growing like never before, and this means an increasing percentage of the elderly and oldest in the total population. Combating age discrimination and age management are challenges that match these problems. In this regard, the public policies of various countries are adapted in a differentiated way to achieve these objectives. However, they all pursue the most important goal, which is the equal treatment of seniors so that the idea of an inclusive Europe, i.e. a Europe of open societies, is fulfilled. For this to be possible, it is necessary to create socio-cultural conditions for seniors, conducive to their civic involvement. One of key conditions here is the possibility/right to age in place and age-friendly city’s policies. In our article we will compare elderly policies, conditions and solutions in this area in Poland in France.
